About Prep36

Free ACT practice, built for the Enhanced ACT.

Prep36 is a website for ACT practice: 1,026 original questions in English, math, reading and science, full-length timed tests, and an explanation behind every answer. No account needed to start.

VelaI'm Vela. I point out the trap, then I call Lights Out.

What Prep36 is

Prep36 is free ACT practice built only for the ACT, and for the Enhanced ACT format in particular. The whole question bank is free: every section, every skill, every difficulty, plus 2 full timed practice tests with unlimited retakes.

Two paid plans add study tools on top. Plus ($14 a month) adds the other timed tests, the exam day simulator, the Pace Trainer and more. Max ($30 a month) adds the ACT Writing module. Free costs $0, and the pricing page says forever.

How a question gets made

Every question on Prep36 goes through the same four steps before a student sees it.

  1. Step 1: Written original

Every question is original, written to the Enhanced ACT blueprint. Nothing is copied from ACT tests.

  2. Step 2: Tagged

Each one is tagged to the official reporting categories, and the bank is organized by them.

  3. Step 3: Solved twice, blind

Every new question is re-solved by two independent AI solvers that never see the answer key.

  4. Step 4: Ships on a match

It ships only when both solvers match the key. Every answer comes with an explanation.

Want ACT's own released tests too? Prep36 does not copy them in. It links you straight to the free official material. Where to find ACT’s own free practice tests

Meet Vela

Vela is Prep36's own character: a senior, one year ahead of you, with a teal pencil through her bun. She names the trap, never the student.

She keeps sessions short. When the set is done, she calls Lights Out.
